Whoooooo is crying FOWL?
The site especially for those who hate Tripadvisor

I have been in the Travel industry for 40 years. A few tears ago (Freudian typo) I bought a small hotel in the Yorkshire Dales. I was foolish enough to register with Trip Advisor. I say foolish because I along with many others have found out what a monster that site has become.

The internet is alive with horror stories of hotel clients using TripAdvisor for blackmail, of rivals destroying their competitors reputations, of PR companies being employed to ramp up totally unsuitable properties, the list of abuses is extensive. I have opened this site for others who share my concerns about the dubious practices and overwhelming arrogance that would appear to be pervasive in the organisation.

In my opinion the masthead "Get the truth and then go"* is a travesty of the truth and misleads rather than informs. Far from being a service to the public, it is a deception that as a by product damages the livelihoods and jobs of a lot of very hardworking people. For that reason this David says that that Goliath has to change or go.

I am not at all embarassed about my hotel's profile because I know the presentation on Tripadvisor is as far from the truth as you can get. The fact that they have the location wrong by 240 miles just about says it all.
